The Business: I help home sellers look at their homes through the potential buyers' eyes. I help them arrange the house to show its best qualities, effectively making it look as though it were a model home. Staging In Style can help clients use their existing furniture and accessories, or I can bring in items from my own inventory. I can even stage vacant homes. Staging not only will help you sell your home faster, and for your asking price, but it also can help with inspections and to raise your appraisal value.

Main Challenge: Many people still are not familiar with the concept of home staging. I spend the majority of my time educating people on what staging is and its importance. At the same time, I still have to find clients so that I can bring in money and help my business grow. It can be difficult trying to juggle my time between educating and staging, but I enjoy marketing my business just as much as I enjoy staging.

Advice: I am surprised by how receptive everyone has been. I was worried at first that I may not have the credibility that I needed since I work out of my home. I have learned that regardless of whether you are in an office or working out of your home, what matters is that you give your clients the service and attention they deserve.
If you have a home-based business, enjoy the opportunity, because not many people are fortunate enough to be able to work from their homes.
