You Reap What You Sow Age-old maxim holds true today too.
"If you do not sow in the spring, you will not reap in the autumn.” ~ Irish Proverb The fourth quarter has arrived and so has autumn. So…how are you doing? Will you be sitting back in your easy chair come holiday season recalling your greatest year ever? If so, chances are you did some serious “sowing” last spring. If you are in sales or own your own business, you probably honed your selling or business skills, studied your product, industry and competition more than ever, and dedicated time each week to plan where you need to focus your time. And chances are, you didn’t do it by accident. You see, those that reap the greatest harvest are those that plan the best. If you won’t be experiencing a bumper crop this season, don’t sweat it. Just do something about it. Your spring doesn’t have to wait until next year. From this week through the rest of the year, plan on getting out of bed 30 minutes earlier every Monday morning. Use that extra time to sow your knowledge and skill. Don’t check email, voicemail or ESPN Sports Center. Just enjoy the quiet time, grab the bag of seeds and start the planting. And when spring time rolls around, you will be reaping while others are just beginning to sow. |
