Talk About Luck
"Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside themselves was superior to circumstance." Bruce Barton, (1886 - 1967), American advertising executive, U.S. congressman
Why is it that some people get all the luck? Well, I believe that those lucky souls aren’t “lucky” at all. They just EXPECT great things to happen to them. They are, in fact, surprised when things don’t go their way. But in those rare times when their luck runs short, they get over it quickly and put themselves in position to get lucky again.
And what about those who just can’t catch a break? Well, I believe they can’t catch a break because they EXPECT luck to elude them…and so it does.
But there’s something else about luck. It doesn’t come without taking a risk. So if you haven’t been lucky in a while, then you can’t just keep doing what you are doing and hope things will change. Change a work habit. Try something new. Get creative to finally get that meeting with the hard-to-get prospect. Come up with a wacky way to thank your team members. Take a class. Attend a seminar. Reach out to an old friend. Forgive an enemy. Ask for forgiveness from somebody you disappointed. And lastly, expect your luck to change. Because by daring to believe that something inside of you is superior to circumstance, you will take control of the circumstances that will help you get to the TOP!
