Enhance Dental Adds Three Practices
Enhance Dental Franchising has added three dental practices and owners in the Kansas City area: Trevor Clemons, downtown Kansas City, Mo.; Maria Kunstadter and Michael Sigler, the Plaza; and Brad Gaik, Liberty. Kansas City Advertising Company Honored
Kelly/Russell Advertising was honored at the Communication Arts 2003 Design Annual Design competition for its food packaging design for an Overland Park-based company, Playful Palate. Only 244 of the more than 14,000 design entries that were submitted were accepted.

FuseMail, LLC is a new e-mail service with technology that allows for the consolidation of e-mail accounts. It is useful for travelers and people who use more than one computer. A Taste of the Kingdom, a farm family-owned company based in Kingdom City, Mo., is offering its natural, kosher-certified gourmet condiments through Amazon.com’s Gourmet Food store. Originally available in stores in 35 states, the condiments can now be ordered online. The condiments can be applied as a glaze or directly as a relish. Anne Peterson Joins Medical Imaging

Anne Peterson, a longtime television anchor in Kansas City, has joined Medical Imaging Inc. as a spokesperson. Peterson was a television anchor for 24 years and was the first local television news reporter to focus on health issues. Medial Imaging provides radiological services at a full-service facility at 2001 NE Parvin Road and a MRI-only facility in Shawnee. Two additional facilities are under construction.

Java Time Opens in Lenexa
Java Time, LLC, a coffee and specialty beverage shop, has opened at 13344 College Boulevard in Lenexa. In addition to featuring lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, smoothies and gourmet cocoas, the shop offers a variety of baked goods. Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Yulan Studio Gains New Clients

The Circle S Ranch, KCCatalyst and Chas. H. Sells, Inc. (SELLS) have selected Kansas City-based Yulan Studio to provide a variety of marketing services as well as newsletter and web site design services. The Circle S is a Lawrence, Kansas bed and breakfast facility offering corporate meeting facilities. KCCatalyst is a nonprofit organization that works to accelerate the formation and growth of life science and technology-based businesses. Top KC Professionals Formed

A group of 25 unemployed, upper-level managers in the Kansas City area has formed Top KC Professionals, an organization whose members are business managers with at least 10 years of management experience and significant career accomplishments. The organization’s Web site posts resumes of the organization’s members in 14 areas of expertise. Hamele Healthcare Resources Receives Awards
Hamele Healthcare Resources (HHR) received two Silver PRISM awards for its work in marketing and public relations from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). PRSA sponsors the award competition annually to recognize public relations and communication campaigns. HHR received an award in the Special Events – Under $50,000 category on behalf of the Kansas City Cancer Center (KCCC) and in the Capabilities Brochure - 4 Color category on behalf of the Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center (VSEC).

HourGlass Fitness Opens in Shawnee

HourGlass fitness, a company offering in-home fitness and nutrition services for women, opened in December in Shawnee. The company specializes in post-partum rehabilitation, helping women who have had children regain their pre-pregnancy shape. Lorrie Glass, personal trainer, owns the company. The Cup and Saucer Expands Menu

The Cup and Saucer on Delaware Street has expanded its menu and added smoke-free dining in addition to bar seating. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.; lunch, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and dinner, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Customers may fax in to-go orders. Sharp Designs Creates New Headwear
Gloria Sharp, owner of Sharp Designs, has created a new headwear item called the Bangdana. The invention is a headscarf with real hair attached as bangs. The Bangdana was created for women experiencing hair loss due to cancer or other health-related issues, but can be worn by women interested in a new style. Local Inventor Receives National Recognition
Clyde Morgan, Olathe, was one of 33 semi-finalists in the United Inventors Association/Inventors’ Digest National New Products Hunt. Sponsored by the Proctor & Gamble Company, the event drew more than 400 entries from throughout the United States. Morgan was recognized for the Hand/Wrist Restorer, a disposable device designed to combat symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and minimize the need for surgery. The device promotes circulation and proper nerve conduction by expanding the area around the carpal tunnel.

Quiznos Opens in Olathe
A new Quiznos restaurant has opened at Santa Fe and Mur-Len in Olathe. The store is owned and operated by Q Continuum, LLC, a firm owned by Snehal Bhakta, Olathe, and Shaunak Patel, Gardner. The largest Quiznos in the Kansas City area, the restaurant offers toasted submarine sandwiches. Take-out, box lunches for corporate catering and party subs for office parties are provided. Creative Agency Holds Grand Opening

Centrifuge LLC, a full-service creative agency, and its strategic partner, Dimension X Design (DXD), held a grand opening celebration in November at the company’s newly remodeled location in the Dickinson Theater Administration Building in Mission. Jeff Weir, former creative director at WDAF-TV and owner of WeirDesign, founded Centrifuge. Additional partners are Matt Kantz, former director of marketing at Discover Vision Centers and owner of EM Advertising. DXD provides animation, graphics and CD and DVD design and authoring. Women-Only Fitness Center Opens in Olathe
Full Circle Fitness Center, a women’s only fitness center, has opened at 1843 Ridgeview Road. The center offers cardiovascular and strength training workouts that combine adjustable hydraulic exercise equipment with aerobic exercise. Clients exercise to music, alternating between hydraulic machines and aerobic stations, moving from station-to-station in 30-second intervals. Stephanie Mulroy owns the center. S&M NuTec Wins State Award
Missouri Governor Bill Holden presented S&M NuTec founders Joe and Judy Roetheli with the Missouri Agricultural Exporter of the Year award on Nov. 23. The ceremony took place at the 38th Annual Missouri Governor’s Conference on Agriculture at the Tan-Tar-A Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Since 1996 S&M NuTec, the developer of Greenies dog treats, has grown from the two founders to 37 employees. Sales since 2000 have grown 3,800 percent, and the company projects sales of more than 100 million Greenies for 2003.

The company’s international sales represent 9 percent of their overall revenues, including exports to 25 countries and 40 major international markets.
