KCReferral
Local Group Generates $2.5 Million in New Business for Its Members
With $2.5 Million in new business generated for its members in 2007, KCReferral has tapped into a winning formula: good relationships generate good business.
In fact, referrals between group members resulted in an average of $125,896 in new sales for each of the association’s 20+ members last year.
“We care about each other, and go out of our way to make sure each member is successful,” says Brody Dorland, a member since 2007.
Unlike other networking groups, KCReferral focuses exclusively on generating high-quality referrals for members. Founding member Grady Hawley says, “We were looking for a way to create a more fun atmosphere, a camaraderie of like-minded individuals. We wanted something that would be less restricting and less expensive than other networking groups we’d tried.”
The goal at KCReferral is to deeply understand fellow members, helping them find the right business opportunities. When someone says, “I’m struggling to get in the door at Garmin,” several members pitch in their personal contacts to help.
The group not only shares referrals, but also successful sales and marketing strategies. They meet twice monthly to share referrals, and host several networking events a year—from wine-tastings to holiday parties.
The group was founded in December 2003 by Hawley and five others. Membership in the group is highly selective, and all go through an application process. Only one representative per industry is allowed. There are currently members in construction, insurance, real estate, marketing, chiropractic, and more.
The group is currently seeking new members in both B2B and B2C industries, including legal, food services, staffing, and massage therapy. For a complete list of industries sought, please visit www.kcreferral.com.
