Handmark, Inc., a Kansas City, Mo.-based publisher of PDA software, was recently awarded the Developer of the Year for Palm OS software. The company also received the Handango Champion Award in the Best Travel Application category for their Rand McNally StreetFinder software.

The Handango Champion Awards, which honor the best in mobile software, are judged by the media as well as industry experts. The awards were presented at the Handango Partner Summit in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Custom Sign Shop Provides Non-Electrical Signs
Sign d’sign Incorporated has opened at 115 N. Parker in Olathe. Doug and Teresa Larson, owners of the new business, have been in the sign business since 1998 and own a second store in Lawrence. Republican Chairman’s Appointment Announced

Brad Turner, a Lansing businessman, has been named to the 2003 Republican Chairman’s Honor Roll. Turner, who serves as co-chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Business Advisory Council, is being recognized for service and support. His name will be on display at the Republican Headquarters building in Washington, D.C. He also qualifies to receive the committee’s highest honor, the Republican Gold Medal, which will be presented at a special awards ceremony in the nation’s capital.

Home Warranty Company Changes Name

The Warranty Team, formerly known as ProHome, has a new name and an updated identity. The change was made to reflect the focus of the company, which is to offer homebuilders an alternative to servicing home warranty claims.
